The Hound Racing over hurdles on 29th September had everything in its favour: it was wonderful fun, it raised a lot of money for the CH, and it allowed onlookers to watch hounds competing against one another - something we never see except sometimes when hounds are following a trail in the field. The Puppy Show is of course limited to the young hounds and is competitive from the viewers' point of view only. If run over a somewhat longer course, Hound Racing could be a major crowd puller (and money maker) at the next Open Day.
